Job summary

City of Providence seeks an Applications Programmer Analyst in IT to provide analysis and technical assistance for financial applications, gather requirements and specify solutions under the CIO's direction. Occasional scheduled and emergency work at night and on weekends.

Duties include leading technical projects in finance, HR, payroll, retirement benefits and purchasing; evaluate system needs; develop and modify application and database systems; document changes; train users and provide help

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associates Degree from accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of seven (7) years' experience working in a computing environment similar in size and complexity to the City of Providence.
• Knowledge of Windows OS/Server, ERP Platforms, Microsoft Dynamics Development Environment, AI Coding and Support Tools, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• For applications in finance, human resources, payroll, retirement benefits administration, and purchasing: gather requirements, specify solutions and lead technical project implementation.
• Evaluates the systems needs of staff and operating departments and recommends solutions; research commercial applications; prepare TOC and ROI analysis.
• Develops, tests, supports, and modifies application systems and database systems
• Documents all systems designed and modified
• Provide User training as required
• Assist with help desk and user support as needed
• Responsible for management of small to medium sized projects
