Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Herndon, VA is seeking a Principal Finance to lead FP&A for the Acoustics & Imaging Systems Division (>$500M revenue). You will drive forecasts, consolidate results, and coordinate division reporting, while overseeing critical financial deliverables and KPI tracking.

The role requires extensive experience in finance, government contract accounting, and advanced Excel skills, with an onsite work arrangement in Herndon, VA. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with 12+ years’ experience in general financial management, including accounting or planning & reporting.
• 12-16 years’ experience and understanding of government contract accounting, including quoting, progress payments, milestone and percent of completion billing.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive financial forecasts (income statements, balance sheets, cash flows).
• Own major deliverables: Monthly Financial Review, Annual Operating Plan, and 3-year Joint Strategic Plan with chart development.
• Collaborate with program finance and accounting on inputs for forecasting including overhead, sales, profit, and cash flow projections.
• Lead preparation of forecasting reports and ad hoc responses for stakeholders.
• Manage tracking of indirect rates and monthly forecast reviews.
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses and advanced Excel modeling.
• Prepare weekly financial metrics to monitor KPIs and improve data sources.
• Develop tools and templates to streamline data gathering and reporting.
• Drive variance analysis and propose corrective actions based on stakeholder input.
• Prepare impactful presentations for stakeholders and manage system forecasting (Hyperion).
• Plan and schedule work to meet objectives while ensuring compliance.
