Job summary

The Talent Mine is seeking a Finance & ERP Specialist for an in-office, full-time role in the United States. The position supports end-to-end financial processes, enhances system integrity, and drives data-driven decision making across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or 5+ years of equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years in finance/accounting operations with end-to-end process improvement experience.
  • 3+ years' ERP/financial system implementation experience including requirements, UAT, or change management.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end finance processes from intake through execution, reporting, and steady-state operations.
  • Define and own finance roadmaps, MVP scope, and initiative plans aligned to business priorities.
  • Create, manage, and prioritize initiative backlogs, including Initiatives and Epics in DevOps.
  • Lead initiative execution by monitoring progress, risks, dependencies, and timelines and communicating status to stakeholders.
  • Partner with GTS, IT, Finance, and leaders to gather requirements and deliver aligned solutions.
  • Provide process-level and system-level support; ensure timely resolution and operational stability with Finance, GTS, and IT teams.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet quality standards, acceptance criteria, and business outcomes, including testing/UAT.

Job description

The Talent Mine is recruiting a dedicated Finance & ERP Specialist for an immediate FTE in-office position at any of the following locations:

  • Phoenix, Arizona
  • Birmingham, Alabama

The client is North America's largest recycler and leads the steel industry in minimizing environmental impacts, with an unmatched track record of employee investment and stability.

This role oversees end-to-end financial processes to make sure they're safe, efficient, accurate, and aligned with business objectives. This role is accountable for the design, performance, and continuous improvement of finance processes, ensuring they are well supported by systems, data, and stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in driving process improvements, managing financial systems, and providing analytical insight to support informed decision-making across the organization.

NOTE: The client can only consider US citizens and Green Card holders for the role (so candidates with H1B visa, C2C status, or visa sponsorship needs WILL NOT be considered).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 20% domestic travel to client's facilities is required.

Compensation

TOTAL COMPENSATION = $118,000-$172,000, broken down as follows:

  • Base salary range - $85,000-$116,000
  • Annual ROA of 23-33% over the past 5 years!
  • Profit sharing bonus averaging 16% over the past 5 years!

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the single point of accountability for assigned finance processes and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives.
  • Own and manage end-to-end finance processes, from intake through execution, reporting, and steady state operations.
  • Define and own finance roadmaps, MVP scope, and initiative plans, aligned to business priorities.
  • Create, manage, and prioritize initiative backlogs, including ownership of Initiatives and Epics in DevOps.
  • Lead initiative execution by monitoring progress, risks, dependencies, and timelines, and communicating status to stakeholders.
  • Partner with GTS, IT, Finance, and business leaders and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver aligned solutions.
  • Provide process-level and system-level support, serving as an escalation point for complex finance process and system issues, ensuring timely resolution and operational stability in partnership with Finance, GTS, and IT teams.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet quality standards, acceptance criteria, and business outcomes, including testing and UAT participation.
  • Drive process efficiency and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for standardization, optimization, and automation.
  • Maintain deep domain knowledge of finance processes, systems, integrations, and data structures.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, system configurations, and training materials.
  • Lead change management by defining the change approach, supporting communication, and coordinating adoption efforts in partnership with Finance leadership and business teams.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field — or 5+years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting operations with demonstrated ability to understand, evaluate, and improve end-to-end finance processes across areas such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, or Controlling.
  • 3+ years' experience working alongside ERP or financial system implementations — contributing to requirements, UAT, or change management — with sufficient system competency to collaborate effectively with functional analysts and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with financial platforms such as OneStream, Kyriba, or similar consolidation, reporting, or treasury tools.
  • Experience operating within Agile or iterative delivery environments, including contributing to backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and UAT coordination.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement) with the ability to apply structured thinking to identify inefficiencies and define better workflows.
  • Professional development in finance, process improvement, or project delivery (PMP, Agile certifications, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems is preferred.
