Job summary

Energize Delaware is seeking a mission-driven Finance Officer to lead financial management, capital strategy, and clean energy finance programs, including C-PACE and ESPC. The role reports to the Executive Director and involves budget development, forecasting, and loan portfolio oversight.

The position requires 5+ years in finance with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and preference for MBA/CPA/CFA. Hybrid work in Dover, DE, with competitive nonprofit compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with MBA, CPA, CFA preferred.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy industry preferred.
• Experience managing multiple budgets and funding sources with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with loan funds or energy finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the annual budget and budget forecast.
• Manage loan portfolio both residential and commercial.
• Coordinate with staff on deployment of capital within the State.
• Maximize public and private capital.
• Advance clean energy solutions to expand our energy investment portfolio.
• Provide regular financial reporting to the Executive Director.
• Ensure compliance with all funding requirements.
• Assist with the annual auditing process.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure financial integrity.
• Manage the C-PACE and ESPC programs and bond issuances.
• Coordinate with capital providers and market participants.
• Monitor loan repayments and coordinate loan collections in defaults.
• Act as program lead on bond issuance planning.
• Manage SREC programs and SREC portfolio.
• Provide financial results and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
• Establish best practices and standardized processes for financial planning and analysis.
• Oversee internal controls and procedures to safeguard organizational assets and mitigate financial risk.
