Job summary

Mulhaupts seeks a Director of Finance to lead the Accounting and Finance team, owning core responsibilities including financial reporting, month-end close, cash management, accounts receivable and payable, internal controls, and compliance.

The role partners with the fractional CFO and executive leadership to enhance management reporting, planning, and data-driven decision making, while gaining a deep understanding of project, service, distribution, and recurring-revenue activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, cash management, and internal controls.
• Ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.
• Strong business acumen with understanding of project-based operations, including job costing and project billing.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and year-end close processes and ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee AR, AP, billing, collections, cash receipts, vendor payments, payroll-related accounting.
• Manage cash flow and working capital, banking relations, and debt payments.
• Coordinate audits and reporting with external auditors and authorities.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting in partnership with leadership.
• Provide timely reporting and analysis on department performance, profitability, and trends.
• Partner with departments to improve profitability, cash flow, and business performance.
• Own and improve ERP usage and automate processes to strengthen data integrity and controls.
