Job summary

Abstraction Media, Inc. seeks a hands-on Finance Director to lead financial planning, reporting and day-to-day financial oversight.

You’ll work closely with leadership, our bookkeeper and external advisers to manage cash flow, strengthen controls and improve profitability across the company’s shows and projects. Lead budgets, forecasts and cash-flow planning; analyze profitability and explain variances; oversee invoicing, receivables and payables, and coordinate tax preparation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading finance in a media/entertainment or project-based business is a plus.
• Strong track record in budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning.
• Proven ability to analyze profitability, explain variances and drive improvements.
• Excellence in Excel/Sheets and proficiency with accounting systems.
• Discretion and integrity in handling confidential financial information.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgets, forecasts and cash-flow planning
• Analyze show and project profitability and explain variances
• Review settlements, reconcile revenue and expenses, and resolve discrepancies
• Oversee invoicing, receivables, payables and financial controls
• Deliver clear financial reports and practical recommendations
• Coordinate accounting and tax preparation with external advisers
• Improve financial systems and reporting processes
• Financial leadership experience with strong accounting fundamentals
• A hands-on approach to financial analysis and reconciliation
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and accounting-system experience
• Excellent organization, communication and attention to detail
• Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
• Experience in entertainment, project-based businesses, international operations or QuickBooks is a plus.
