Job summary

Tarvos Talent is partnering with a rapidly growing AI-driven technology company to identify a Finance Director for their team in Austin, TX (Hybrid). This is a highly visible leadership opportunity to build scalable accounting processes and partner closely with executive leadership.

You will own day-to-day accounting operations, GAAP reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and audits while mentoring the accounting team and driving strategic initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Active CPA required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience preferred.
• Experience within a high-growth startup or rapidly scaling environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, audits, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience implementing accounting systems and leveraging technology to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Own budget-to-actual analysis, forecasting support, and financial performance reporting.
• Manage external audits, tax compliance, and key regulatory requirements.
• Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives while mentoring and developing the accounting team.
