Job summary

BMCC in New York City seeks a Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting for college-related entities, ensure GASB/FASB compliance, and coordinate financial reporting for Auxiliary Enterprises, BMCC Foundation, ACE, and related programs.

Reporting to the Controller, you will supervise staff, manage audits, and implement internal controls while collaborating with the Bursar and Fiscal Office. A Bachelor's degree and six years' experience required; a master's degree and CPA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience required.
• Master's degree and/or CPA preferred with relevant accounting leadership experience.
• Knowledge of fund accounting, budgeting systems, and GAAP/GASB/FASB standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CUNY, City, State, Federal, GASB and FASB accounting requirements.
• Lead financial reporting for college-related entities in systems like CUNYFIRST, CUNYBUY, and CUNYWORK.
• Coordinate with Bursar, ACE, and Fiscal Office for timely cash receipts and reconciliations.
• Oversee payments, refunds, and year-end audit submissions and ad hoc reporting.
• Prepare financial statements and MD&As for auxiliary entities and other accounts.
• Serve as an audit liaison and supervise Fiscal Office staff; train staff on Oracle/PeopleSoft.
• Develop internal controls and manage operations across related entities.
