Job summary

Ascendo Resources is assisting a leading Commercial Construction company in their search for a Finance Director or VP of Finance with deep construction industry finance experience. Based in the Midtown Miami area, this role leads budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, treasury and reporting for multi-project portfolios.

The successful candidate will own the finances end-to-end, oversee cash flow, balance sheet, P&L, and collaborate with project managers to optimize profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years within Finance.
• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance from a reputable university.
• Current Construction industry Finance experience.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Owns treasury, balance sheet, P&L, budgeting and forecasting.
• Leads FP&A, advanced reporting, and project financial communication.
• Modernizes policies, internal controls, and AI tool adoption.
• Collaborates with risk management, insurance, and banking relationships.

Position Title: Finance Director or VP of Finance - Construction

Location: Midtown Miami area

Salary: $150 to $180K + annual bonus

Technical Skill Set Required:

• Please note, this is not an accounting role. This is a more of a budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, balance sheet, treasury, chash flow focused position.
• Mid to large sized Construction company finance experience: $100m+
• Construction industry Finance experience (current)
• Full ownership & oversight of Finances: Treasury, balance sheet, P&L, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, P&L statements, FP&A, advanced reporting, communication with PM’s on projects.
• Modernizing the Finance & Accounting team: improvement of polices & procedures, streamlining internal controls, implementing AI tools,
• Cash flow management
• Work closely with Risk Management, Insurances, Property & Causality Insurance, Employee Benefits oversight, Banking relationships
• Somone who is the face of the department as well as the company: must be outgoing, charming, personable, polished, professional, well spoken, great attitude, well liked.
