Job summary

The City of Norton is seeking a qualified finance professional to serve as Finance Director, leading the city's financial operations and supporting sound fiscal decisions. This role reports to the Mayor and participates in policy development.

Responsibilities include budgeting, accounting, payroll, reporting to Council, and ensuring compliance with Ohio law. The position requires leadership, discretion, and formal background checks as part of pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing budgeting, taxation, accounting, and financial control.
• Experience managing municipal payroll and related reporting.
• Knowledge of cash management and investments in line with city policies and Ohio law.
• Ability to prepare and present financial reports to Council and authorities.

• Oversee collection, custody, and disbursement of municipal funds.
• Direct financial records management and reporting.
