Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking a seasoned finance leader to oversee ancillary financial planning, care-line finance, and performance improvement across Pharmacy, Radiology, Lab, and Surgical services. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field; master's degree preferred.
• Eight or more years of healthcare finance experience, with ancillary, service line, or care-line finance.
• Working expertise in patient-level costing, contribution margin analysis, and benchmarking.
• Knowledge of pharmacy economics (including 340B) and device cost structures is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead finance leaders and influence clinical and operational leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own the budgets and forecasts for Pharmacy, Radiology, Lab, and Surgical/Procedural Services, aligned to hospital and facility entities.
• Lead long-range financial modeling for ancillary services.
• Build ancillary budgets from volume forecasts and deliver for facility consolidation.
• Collaborate with ancillary leaders to determine capital needs and submit through budgeting processes.
• Provide financial leadership for care-lines, including modeling and performance reporting.
• Lead contribution analysis, benchmarking, and peer comparisons.
• Provide care-line insights to Hospital and Ambulatory Finance for budgeting considerations.
• Operationalize patient-level data to identify margin improvement opportunities.
• Partner with the Director of Financial Modeling to define user needs for costing data.
• Collaborate with the Chief Supply Chain Officer on costs and contract compliance.
• Lead, develop, and evaluate ancillary finance directors.
