Job summary

UC Irvine's Department of Psychiatry seeks a Finance Director to oversee the department's financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and controls. You will lead budget development, financial reporting, and analysis, supervising financial staff, and providing strategic financial modeling to support DA and leadership.

You'll collaborate with department leaders to improve processes, ensure compliance, and deliver timely financial services across academic and clinical programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• 4+ years of Experience with Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business/Healthcare administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years experience in managing division/departments in a complex matrix of comparable level of experience.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
• Prepares, administers, and manages control of budget / organization resources.
• Manages the activities of the financial / resource analyst staff.
• Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control.
• Monitors division and department adherence to approved budget.
• Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
• Contributes financial analysis, modeling, and recommendations to inform departmental strategy, budget development, and operational decision-making led by the DA and faculty leadership.
