Job summary

University of California, Irvine seeks a Finance Director to oversee the department\'s financial operations, budget development, and forecasting. The role reports to the Department Administrator and partners with academic and clinical programs to align finances with strategic goals.

Located in Orange County, this position emphasizes internal controls, policy compliance, and robust financial analysis to guide planning and resource allocation across the Psychiatry department.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of finance and budget policies, practices and systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

• Knowledge of internal control practices and protecting resources.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business or related field.
• 2+ years experience in managing divisions in a complex matrix.

Responsibilities

• Lead departmental budget development, financial reporting, forecasting and controls.
• Provide financial modeling, recommendations, and analyses for planning and decision-making.
• Support business planning and process improvement across the department.
• Supervise budget staff and ensure adherence to policies.
• Collaborate with leaders to enable effective financial service delivery.
