Job summary

Freedom House Recovery Center in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an experienced Finance Director to manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance across Medicaid, private insurance, grants, and other funding sources, and deliver timely financial insights.

You will lead the accounting function, supervise staff, oversee monthly close, budgeting, audits, and implement up-to-date financial systems, reporting to the CFO.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and general ledger accuracy
• Manage accounting operations including AP, AR, and cash management
• Monitor behavioral health revenue streams and billing coordination
• Ensure grant compliance and prepare funder reports
• Lead budget preparation and variance analysis
• Coordinate annual audit and maintain audit readiness
• Supervise and develop accounting staff
• Ensure usage of the most appropriate and up to date financial systems and processes

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Director to join our team. The Finance Director is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, compliance, and reporting infrastructure. This role ensures accurate financial management across funding streams including Medicaid, private insurance, grants, and other funding sources, while supporting daily operations with timely financial insights. The Finance Director reports to the CFO and leads the accounting function.
