Job summary

Yahoo Finance is seeking an Information Designer / Data Visualization Specialist to turn messy economic data into clear, impactful graphics. You will report to the Creative Director and work with reporters to shape visual narratives for web, mobile, social, and video platforms.

You will apply AI-augmented parsing and generative design workflows to speed production while upholding journalistic integrity and high visual craft.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in information design or editorial graphics.
• Portfolio with data visualization and typographic mastery.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma.
• Experience with AI-augmented design systems and data parsing.

Responsibilities

• Design high-fidelity charts, diagrams, and info graphics for daily news and features.
• Translate complex financial concepts into clear visuals for a global audience.
• Collaborate with reporters, data analysts and editors early in projects.
• Deploy automated chart frameworks for breaking news and real-time events.
• Maintain an enterprise template library for consistent branding.
• Utilize AI tools to digest data before mapping visuals.
• Scale designs across desktop, mobile, and social formats.
• Present layout rationale in cross-functional standups.
