Job summary

Yahoo Finance is seeking an Information Designer / Data Visualization Specialist (IC3) who thinks like an editor to join our design team. You will transform messy, complex financial datasets into clear, accurate information graphics for web, mobile, and video platforms.

Reporting to the Creative Director, you will work with minimal guidance, incorporating AI-augmented data parsing and generative design workflows to speed up production while upholding journalistic integrity and visual craft.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in information design, data visualization, or editorial graphics in digital media.
• Portfolio showing advanced data visualization, graphics, layouts, typography and visual hierarchy.
• Proficient in Illustrator; strong Photoshop and Figma skills; experience with Datawrapper/Flourish/RAWGraphs.

Responsibilities

• Concept, design, and render high-fidelity charts, diagrams and complex graphics for daily news, features, and newsletters.
• Translate complex financial concepts into clear visual assets for a global audience.
• Collaborate with reporters, data analysts, and editors to identify data storytelling opportunities.
