Job summary

Nomura in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Data Analyst / Business Analyst to support the End of Day Consistency project. You will partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into clear specifications and user stories for the delivery team.

You will analyze data flows, reconcile discrepancies, and perform quality checks across multiple source systems to support governance, risk, and operational reporting needs, with emphasis on accuracy and clarity in communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or similar analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Experience with a scripting/analytics language such as Python or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GL reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain findings to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements for the End of Day Consistency initiative, translating functional needs into clear specifications and user stories for the delivery team.
• Analyze data flows, reconcile discrepancies, and perform quality checks across source systems to support consistency and accuracy objectives, identifying gaps and recommending remediation steps.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple internal and external systems to support business, risk, and operational reporting needs
• Document data definitions, lineage, and methodologies to support governance, auditability, and knowledge transfer
• Present analysis and insights to senior stakeholders in a clear, concise manner, adapting technical detail to the audience
• Support UAT and post-implementation activities by designing test scenarios, tracking issues to resolution, and producing status reporting and documentation for stakeholders and project governance.
