Job summary

NYCM Insurance is seeking a Business Data Analyst (Finance) to support data and reporting needs within Financial Services. The role is hybrid, with 2 days in the office in Edmeston, NY, and involves developing data queries, creating reports, and supporting forecasting and analytics.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in finance or accounting, proficiency with MS SQL and reporting tools, and strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate with the Finance team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related experience.
• Associate degree in business, accounting, finance, or technology related field is preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office, MS SQL, and Crystal or similar reporting software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop queries, code and data transformation scripts for financial applications using SQL and reporting tools.
• Create and maintain reports for financial reporting, regulatory filings and customer experience.
• Acquire data from multiple sources including policy admin and claim systems.
• Test systems and reports; coordinate small technical projects with the division team.
• Support KPI definition and monitoring; assist with forecasting and modeling projects.
• Troubleshoot data issues and maintain project documentation.
