Job summary

Security Mutual Life Insurance seeks a Data & Analytics professional to join our Binghamton, NY home office with a hybrid schedule. You will collect, organize, validate, and analyze data from various business systems to identify trends and provide forecasts.

You will create SQL queries and Power BI dashboards, translate business needs into reporting solutions, and ensure data accuracy. The ideal candidate has 0–2 years in analytics, a Business degree, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years’ experience in data analytics, BI, or reporting.
• Experience with large data sets and reporting tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Windows and Office.
• SQL queries with joins and aggregations.
• Ability to work on a team and independently.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, validate, and analyze data from various business systems to identify trends and provide forecasts.
• Write, update, and maintain SQL queries, reports, and Power BI dashboards to track KPIs, quality, timeliness, and compliance.
• Translate business requirements into reporting and analytics solutions; evaluate alternative data solutions.
• Conduct routine audits of systems and databases to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
• Respond to ad hoc data requests and analyses from stakeholders; balance turnaround time with accuracy.
• Validate data from multiple sources to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Apply basic statistics like trend analysis and forecasting to interpret data patterns.
• Design and format reports and visualizations for non-technical audiences; document data definitions and report logic.
• Support automation of recurring reporting processes and prepare materials for management analyses.
• Stay current with analytics tools and best practices while documenting procedures.
