Job summary

WinChoice is seeking an experienced Controller to take ownership of accounting operations and build a strong financial foundation for growth. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will oversee the general ledger, monthly close, reconciliations, and internal controls while leading the accounting team.

This hands-on leadership role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Supervisory or accounting team leadership experience.
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting, month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience developing and implementing accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the general ledger and ensure accounting activity is accurate, complete, and properly classified.
• Lead and improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and/or oversee financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and supporting schedules.
• Own the balance sheet reconciliation process and resolve discrepancies.
• Review journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and other significant transactions.
• Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, and collections.
• Monitor AR aging and support cash flow improvements.
• Help optimize ERP and accounting systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and standardize workflows.
