Job summary

Pueblo of Santa Ana is seeking a Controller to supervise the Finance Department under the Finance Director. You will ensure GAAP/GASB compliance, maintain internal controls, and oversee all financial management tasks.

The role requires CPA certification and extensive fund accounting experience, with responsibilities spanning budgeting, audits, and reporting for tribal and grant funds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with eight years fund accounting experience.
• Must hold and maintain CPA certification.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Hire, supervise, counsel, and evaluate accounting staff.
• Lead regular staff meetings for communication on activities.
• Develop and monitor accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Prepare P&L statements for tribal and grant funding periods.
• Interpret and analyze financial reports to guide actions.
• Oversee grant/contract funded program activity and reconciliations.
• Manage month, quarter, year-end close processes.
