Job summary

Nomura in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Analyst for the Finance Control team focusing on monthly close, quarterly reporting, and annual financial statements for the investment management business.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in accounting or finance, a bachelor’s in accounting or finance, strong accounting skills, and proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of US GAAP and public accounting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role, preferably in financial services or a related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from accredited college/university
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Public accounting experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent analytics, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Advanced in MS Office particularly in Excel

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Support external audits
• Assist with preparing annual financial statements
• Analyze variances and identifying discrepancies
• Investigate and resolving accounting issues independently
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and projects
