The North Carolina Department of Commerce seeks a Finance and Business Compliance Analyst II (NS) for audits of contributory employers, across diverse business types, with a full-time schedule and state-provided benefits. The analyst will interview employers, gather records, issue requests as needed, and render opinions on compliance and solvency under Employment Security laws and IRS guidance.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the Employment Security law and Internal Revenue Code as applicable to entities is required.
• Considerable knowledge of Employment Security Law to facilitate audits.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook; adaptable to other accounting/auditing software.

Responsabilités

• Audit contributory employers across all types, sizes and jurisdictions.
• Conduct field interviews with employers, employees, attorneys, and accountants.
• Request Subpoenas for records not provided during interviews or pre-audit steps.
• Form opinions on employer compliance and solvency on behalf of NC DES.
