Job summary

Truist Financial in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a dynamic Collections Supervisor to hire, mentor, and lead a team responsible for the end-to-end recovery process across portfolios, including payment relief, settlements, repossession, and loss recovery.

This role emphasizes leadership, compliance with applicable laws, performance management, and collaboration with multiple departments to meet loss and delinquency goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training or experience.
• Five years of experience in collections or equivalent supervisory experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; speaking in front of large groups.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills in routine and non-routine situations.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Skilled Leadership abilities.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to recommend operational and process improvements.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
• Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.
• Expert knowledge of collection policies, procedures, and processes.
• Knowledgeable of collection practices and federal/state regulations and laws (FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA).

Responsibilities

• Execute the collection process in a fast-paced environment and meet goals.
• Negotiate with clients to reduce delinquency and asset losses while meeting timeframes.
• Manage teammates’ career path via hiring, coaching, performance ratings, and progressive discipline.
• Meet established portfolio delinquency, losses, and recoveries targets.
• Monitor compliance, escalate client complaints, and perform quality reviews.
• Track performance metrics and coach underperforming teammates to KPI targets.
• Maintain professional client communications with accuracy and integrity.
• Coordinate with other departments on status of past dues and escalations.
• Handle charge-offs and account changes (e.g., loan modifications) as per policy.
• Mentor new leaders in Client Default Solutions and support strategy/system changes.
• Complete CBT courses accurately and timely.
