  • Perform monthly variance analyses to ensure data accuracy.
  • Review and reconcile payroll transactions with budget records.
  • Assist with budget allocations, modifications, ROAs, and journal entries.
  • Maintain records per policy and support the Office of Budget and Planning.

Position Details

Finance Budget Coordinator The Lehman College campus is located in Bronx, New York and is a Senior College within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. A federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution, Lehman serves a diverse population of more than 14,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The Office of Budget and Planning, a department within the Division of Administration and Finance, is responsible for the overall management of the College’s operating budget. The primary office duties include budget planning, developing new budget models, forecasting short and long-term financial projections, managing annual budgeting processes; and providing the support and processes needed to ensure effective management of the College’s resources.

Responsibilities

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Finance Budget Coordinator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate personnel services forecasting, including the calculation and monitoring of salary costs associated with new hires, promotions, contractual increases, overtime, and other personnel-related expenditures.
  • Serve as a liaison between the College, University offices, and Human Resources to ensure the timely and accurate processing of position management and personnel actions.
  • Maintain and reconcile position data across multiple financial, payroll, and human capital management systems.
  • Perform monthly variance analyses and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of budget and personnel data.
  • Review and reconcile payroll transactions to verify accuracy and alignment with budget records and actual payroll postings.
  • Assist with the processing of budget allocations, modifications, ROAs, and journal entries within various financial systems.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to position management and budget transactions in accordance with CUNY and campus record retention policies and guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the Office of Budget and Planning and the Division of Administration and Finance.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field; Knowledge of public institution budgeting and funding procedures. Demonstrate competency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft ERP systems. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills Ability to produce accurate and high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
