Job description

Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for a role, Finance Associate.

The Company

Pattern Energy is one of North America’s premier renewable energy and infrastructure platforms, focused on the development, acquisition, ownership, and operation of utility‑scale renewable energy and transmission assets across North America.

Since its founding, the company has built a differentiated reputation through disciplined capital allocation, operational excellence, and a long‑term approach to value creation. Today, Pattern manages a diversified portfolio of wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage assets, supported by a deep pipeline of future development opportunities.

The company has experienced substantial growth over the past several years, driven by both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, including the recent acquisition of Cordelio Power. Backed by sophisticated long‑term investors, including CPP Investments and Riverstone Holdings, Pattern continues to scale its platform while maintaining a highly analytical and commercially disciplined operating model.

Pattern’s culture combines the sophistication and pace of an institutional investment environment with the entrepreneurial mindset of a growing infrastructure platform. The organization is highly collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and focused on developing long‑term leaders across the business.

The Strategic Finance team sits at the center of many of the company’s most important decisions, partnering closely with executive leadership on enterprise strategy, capital planning, financing initiatives, investment evaluation, liquidity management, and Board‑level reporting. As Pattern continues to grow, the finance organization is playing an increasingly critical role in shaping the company’s long‑term strategic direction.

For finance professionals seeking broad exposure, executive visibility, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a rapidly evolving energy platform, Pattern offers a uniquely compelling environment.

The Opportunity

Pattern Energy is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded finance professional to join its Strategic Finance team as an Associate.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a lean finance organization at a pivotal stage of growth for the company. The Associate will work directly alongside senior finance leadership on a broad range of strategic, financing, and capital allocation initiatives that are central to the company’s long‑term growth and enterprise strategy.

Unlike more narrowly focused execution roles, this position offers meaningful exposure across the organization and the opportunity to contribute to enterprise‑level decision making. The successful candidate will gain direct visibility with senior leadership, including the CFO and Board of Directors, while supporting critical analyses related to valuation, liquidity planning, capital strategy, financing initiatives, and long‑term business planning.

The role is intentionally broad and designed to accelerate both technical and professional development. The Associate will partner cross‑functionally with teams across treasury, structuring, FP&A, accounting, operations, and executive leadership, gaining a highly integrated understanding of the business and broader infrastructure investing landscape.

Pattern Energy is focused on identifying exceptional finance talent with strong analytical foundations, intellectual curiosity, polished communication skills, and the ability to thrive in high‑performance environments. Prior renewable energy experience is viewed positively but is not required. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail‑oriented, collaborative, and motivated by long‑term career development within strategic and corporate finance.

As Pattern continues to grow and further institutionalize its finance organization, the Associate role is designed to provide significant responsibility and exposure early in a candidate’s career. The Strategic Finance team is playing an increasingly important role in shaping enterprise strategy, capital allocation priorities, financing initiatives, and long‑term business planning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while developing the technical, strategic, and interpersonal capabilities required for long‑term progression within the organization.

Purpose of the Position

The Associate will support Pattern Energy’s Strategic Finance organization across a broad range of analytical, financial, and strategic initiatives that are central to the company’s long‑term growth and enterprise value creation.

The role will contribute to corporate financial modeling, valuation analysis, liquidity forecasting, capital planning, and executive reporting processes across the business. The Associate will support analyses and materials used by executive leadership, investors, lenders, and the Board of Directors to evaluate financing initiatives, investment opportunities, capital allocation priorities, and long‑term business planning decisions.
