Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an Accountancy Assistant in the Children and Young People’s Finance Service to support Early Years Funding and High Needs Funding. You will work with registered settings, provide funding guidance on new regulations, and contribute to monthly reporting for High Needs Funding.

You will also assist in annual revenue budgets, budgetary control, and final accounts closedown, with routine reconciliations and general ledger maintenance, under the Principal Accountancy

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or Level 2 qualification with relevant finance experience.
• Commitment to working towards AAT Qualification.
• Experience in a busy finance environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly reports for Education Settings detailing High Needs Funding.
• Assist in annual revenue budgets, budgetary control information and final accounts closedown.
• Carry out routine reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Support Early Years Funding and High Needs Funding Team in advisory roles.

Education
