Job summary

Transamerica Corporation seeks an accounting/finance oriented intern for a 14-week spring program in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will work full-time, Monday–Friday, supporting finance projects and applying classroom knowledge to real business needs.

You will report to a manager, collaborate with finance leaders, and gain hands-on experience across tools, data analysis, and process improvement in a dynamic financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college/university pursuing accounting, finance, business analytics, or similar analytical degree.
• Must be able to work 14 weeks spring internship, typically late January to late April.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and strong written/verbal communication.
• Analytical/problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Use financial tools to produce analyses.
• Identify and resolve problems; seek help when needed.
• Adhere to internal controls framework.
• Conduct business process and data analysis aligning requirements to initiatives.
• Prepare documentation (as is/current state) and flows.
• Elicit business and systems requirements.
• Develop new or revised processes in lieu of system development.
• Analyze requests and document requirements; communicate impacts to management.
• Document data transformation rules and assist technical teams.
• Support project teams with business/data analysis on moderately complex systems.
• Assist with test plans/criteria and participate in testing.
