Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland offers an internship where you will gain hands-on experience in finance, accounting, and data analytics at our Cleveland, Ohio location. You will work full-time for 10–12 weeks, starting as early as June, with a 40-hour work week, and opportunities to learn budgeting, reporting, and procurement processes.

You will assist with journal entries, general ledger tasks, asset reviews, and the development of data visualizations for executive reporting, while building

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics; minimum GPA 3.0; at least one semester remaining.
• Strong computer/technical skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Access (or familiarity with other data access tools).

Responsibilities

• Assist with execution of the current department strategic plan and be a part of developing future strategic initiatives for implementation in 2027 and beyond.
• Learn about the unique aspects of the Federal Reserve Bank’s financial statements.
• Assist with the preparation of journal entries, management of the general ledger, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with annual asset confirmation survey and salvage value review.
• Learn the fundamentals of budget preparation, maintenance, and customer service.
• Assist with preparing and distributing customer reports along with developing new job aids and training materials to support ongoing customer engagement strategies.
• Learn about Agile methodologies and how they can be useful in product and tool development to meet stakeholders needs efficiently.
• Assist in the development of new data analytics tools and visualizations which will be used for executive-level reporting.
• Assist with the identification, monitoring, and resolution of key process risk and controls.
• Work with the sourcing team on procure-to-pay activities.
• Research sourcing and contract data information within the Bank’s Enterprise Resource Planning Applications.
• Learn sourcing and procurement concepts and its impact on all financial management functions.
