Job summary

Unum, a Fortune 500 insurer, is seeking a Financial Analyst to support Net Investment Income. This role performs intermediate financial analysis and accounting, working solo or with others to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities include monthly cycles, reconciliations, and developing analytics. You will partner with business areas, maintain data assets, and contribute to process improvements while gaining exposure to Unum’s products and financial controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; post-2015 degree requirement.
Zero to three years of comparable experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple projects
Basic to intermediate Excel skills
General ledger systems and reporting tools experience preferred
Proficient in Word and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

Participate in regular monthly/quarterly financial cycle.
Prepare, verify, reconcile, and balance accounts related to the specific financial area.
Prepare more complex financial analysis and routine reports for manager.
Demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks or processes.
Make recommendations regarding analytics processes and results.
Maintain systems and data assets that support the financial areas.
Partner with business areas to provide requested analysis and data.
Maintain working knowledge of Unum’s products and processes.
