Job summary

Unum is seeking a senior analytics professional to turn complex data into actionable insights that guide business decisions. You will partner with leaders across data, technology, and business functions to design dashboards and data solutions with measurable impact.

Requires a Bachelor's in a related field and 6+ years in BI/analytics, with advanced SQL and experience in Tableau/Power BI/Alteryx. This is a campus-based hybrid role with three onsite days weekly.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in BI, analytics, data science, or related field.
• Advanced SQL; Python a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver dashboards, reports, and datasets with measurable impact.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL is required and experience with Python is a plus.
• Strong experience with BI and analytics platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar tools.
• Experience within the insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and emerging analytics technologies.
• Deep understanding of data profiling, data modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization best practices.
• Experience working with data warehouses, transactional databases, APIs, and modern data ecosystems.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and leadership through data-driven storytelling.
• Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop others.

Primary Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Perform moderate to complex data profiling, analysis, and source evaluation to identify the most effective data for business decision-making.
• Design, develop, and deliver dashboards, reports, datasets, and analytical solutions that drive measurable business impact.
• Conduct statistical analyses and communicate findings to influence recommendations and strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with data engineers to validate data quality and support testing efforts.
• Leverage business and industry knowledge to provide insightful analyses and recommendations.
• Stay current on emerging trends in analytics, business intelligence, and data technologies.
• Work directly with internal customers to refine requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Mentor and coach junior analysts, helping elevate analytics capabilities across the team.
• Take ownership of the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of analytical solutions.
