Job summary

The City of Johns Creek in Georgia is seeking a Finance Analyst to support governmental accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis within the Finance Department.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, familiarity with GAAP and GASB standards, and the ability to clearly communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least two years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Possession of a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Satisfactory credit history.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, reconcile, and verify financial transactions and records, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Support monthly and year-end financial close, financial reporting, and internal and external audit processes.
• Perform budget-to-actual and variance analysis, identify trends and drivers, and prepare financial reports for management.
• Support the preparation and compilation of the annual Budget Book.
• Forecast the City's cash flow position to inform liquidity planning.
• Administer the City's Procurement Card program and support Accounts Payable and other Finance functions.
• Conduct financial research and special projects, prepare ad hoc reports, and improve internal controls.
