Job summary

The City of Johns Creek, located in the northeast Atlanta suburbs of Georgia, is seeking a Finance Analyst to support governmental accounting, budgeting, reporting, and cash flow forecasting. The role also administers the Procurement Card program and collaborates with Accounts Payable and other Finance functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong GAAP/GASB knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to clearly present financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards.
• Proficiency in GL, close processes, and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, reconcile, and verify financial transactions; prepare journal entries and schedules.
• Support monthly/year-end close, financial reporting, and audit processes.
• Perform budget-to-actual and variance analyses; prepare management reports.
• Assist in preparing the annual Budget Book.
• Forecast cash flow and support liquidity decisions.
• Administer Procurement Card program; support Accounts Payable.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and strengthen internal controls.
