Job summary

LAPP Tannehill is seeking an entry-level Finance Analyst / Business Analyst to join our Savage, MN team. You will partner with finance and operations to build forecasts, sharpen budgeting, and modernize processes—from reducing manual work to supporting month-end close.

You will work closely with leaders on forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, with a focus on data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analytics.
• Prior internship experience in Finance or Accounting.
• Demonstrated experience building financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS and hands-on accounting transactions.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience combining operational/process analysis with financial responsibilities.
• Advanced Excel skills (modeling, formulas, pivot tables); experience with ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve financial forecasts including revenue, expenses, headcount, and cash flow.
• Lead or support the annual budgeting process and re-forecasts with department leaders.
• Analyze actual vs. budget/forecast, identify drivers, and report findings to leadership.
• Monitor key metrics, flag risks and opportunities.
• Develop scenario models and analyses for pricing, hiring, capex, and new initiatives.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages, dashboards, and board reporting.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities and GL maintenance.
• Support audits, tax filings, or lender/investor reporting as applicable.
