The Finance Analyst plays a key role in evaluating and supporting affordable housing development projects from initial underwriting through project closing. This position spends much of the day building and maintaining financial models, analyzing project feasibility, reviewing development costs, and ensuring transactions meet financing and regulatory requirements.

A typical day includes working with developers, lenders, state housing agencies, attorneys, accountants, and internal teams to gather information, prepare financing applications, review transaction documents, and update financial models as projects evolve. The Finance Analyst also tracks project timelines, prepares reports, research underwriting guidelines, and helps identify financial risks and opportunities that support sound investment decisions.

Success in this role requires strong analytical and Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex financial problems, working with large amounts of data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and communicating technical financial information to a variety of stakeholders.
