Job summary

SoFi seeks an Associate AI Engineer, Finance Transformation to build multi-step AI workflows improving close, reconciliations, forecasting, and reporting. You will stand up telemetry, measure AI usage and ROI, and ensure explainable outputs within a controlled environment.

You will collaborate with the Finance Transformation Manager and AI SDLC/platform teams to move prototypes to production, advancing a defined AI engineering ladder and growth path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years of experience building with LLMs or exceptional new-grad record with agent projects.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, or agent frameworks with a portfolio.
• Working Python for automation, API integration, and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Build multi-step AI workflows on enterprise platforms and agentic coding tools to automate Finance processes.
• Own usage, cost, engagement, and ROI reporting across Finance AI tools.
• Help design workflows, interfaces, and feedback loops to build trust and adoption.
• Apply and refine patterns for validating AI outputs before they inform Finance decisions.
• Prototype prioritized Finance use cases and partner toward production.
• Develop Finance fluency (close, reconciliation, reporting) and SQL rigor.
