Job summary

Boston University is seeking a Finance Administrator for the Research Development team to oversee convergence funding and multi-investigator grants. The role focuses on budgeting, tracking, and reporting to ensure funds align with project goals and institutional priorities.

Working with the Director and Associate Director, this position manages award lifecycle, financial reviews, and cross-team coordination to enable bold, interdisciplinary collaborations in convergent research.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred and have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring award balances, identifying and resolving budgetary issues.
• Maintaining accurate financial records, and partnering with research teams to develop and refine project budgets at the time of award.
• The Finance Administrator will conduct regular financial reviews and quarterly budget check-ins with funded teams.
• Prepare clear and actionable financial reports for program leadership, and track project spending and balances to support informed decision-making.
• The role also includes budgeting, financial tracking, reconciliation, forecasting, procurement and purchasing support, vendor coordination, and other administrative activities as needed.
