Job summary

Myriad Fabrication is seeking a Finance & Administration Manager to lead the company’s daily financial and HR operations in Houston, TX. The role reports to the President and drives budgeting, cash flow, payroll, and internal controls to support growth.

The ideal candidate will own financial processes, reporting, and compliance, collaborate with leadership, and ensure accurate records. This full-time position follows a 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, HR, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, payroll, or business administration.
  • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end accounting activities.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, annual operating budgets, budget-to-actual reporting, and cash-flow forecasts.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day finance and HR functions including AP/AR, payroll, bookkeeping, and employee administration.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets, capex plans, and forecasts; explain variances.
  • Prepare rolling 13-week cash-flow forecasts and provide timely financial statements.
  • Develop job-cost and gross-margin reporting by project and period.
  • Maintain financial records in QuickBooks and ensure proper controls and approvals.

We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual who wants to be part of a growing company. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the company’s day-to-day finance and human resources functions, work closely with leadership to develop and implement effective financial and HR processes, and build the systems and reporting needed to support informed decision-making and continued growth.

This individual will report to the President.

Classification: Salary / Exempt, Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and as required to maintain business momentum.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary

In this role, the Finance & Administration Manager will lead the company’s day-to-day financial and human resources functions. This position will play an important role in developing and implementing the financial processes, reporting systems, internal controls, and HR practices needed to support the company’s continued growth. Working closely with company leadership, the Finance & Administration Manager will oversee accounting activities, cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and employee administration while providing the accurate financial information and organizational support needed to make informed business decisions.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the company’s day-to-day finance and human resources functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, and employee administration
  • Work closely with the President to develop and manage the annual operating budget, capital-expenditure plan, and financial forecasts; monitor actual performance against budget and explain significant variances
  • Prepare and maintain a rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast covering anticipated customer receipts, payroll, vendor payments, taxes, capital expenditures, and other financial obligations
  • Prepare timely monthly financial statements and management reports, including the income statement, balance sheet, cash-flow statement, budget-to-actual results, and explanations of significant variances
  • Develop and maintain job-cost and gross-margin reporting that compares estimated and actual material, labor, outside-service, and overhead costs by project
  • Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, reconcile bank and credit-card accounts, investigate discrepancies, and establish appropriate financial controls and approval procedures
  • Process and verify vendor invoices, maintain accurate accounts payable records, prioritize payments based on cash availability and due dates, and prepare vendor payments for President approval
  • Generate customer invoices, monitor accounts receivable aging, and coordinate the collection of past-due balances
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including wages, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, payroll taxes, and employee changes
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end accounting activities with the company’s outside accountant or CPA and maintain organized supporting documentation
  • Lead employee onboarding and offboarding and maintain accurate employee records, benefits information, paid time off, payroll changes, and required employment documentation
  • Coordinate recruiting, employee relations, performance-management documentation, company policies, benefits administration, and compliance with applicable employment requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; equivalent relevant education and professional experience may be considered
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, payroll, or business administration, preferably within a small or mid-sized business
  • Demonstrated experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end accounting activities
  • Experience preparing financial statements, annual operating budgets, budget-to-actual reporting, and cash-flow forecasts
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of human resources practices, including recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, employee relations, performance documentation, and employment compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial information, identify discrepancies, and communicate meaningful findings to leadership
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet recurring financial, payroll, and HR deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work professionally with employees, company leadership, customers, vendors, accountants, and outside service providers
  • Demonstrated integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial, payroll, and employee information
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or project-based business, including job costing, labor-cost analysis, gross-margin reporting, and inventory accounting
  • Preferred experience developing financial and HR processes, controls, and reporting systems within a growing small business; professional certification such as CPA, CMA, SHRM-CP, or PHR is beneficial but not required
