Job summary

KSHR is seeking a hands-on finance and accounting leader who will actively contribute to day-to-day accounting while providing strategic insights to senior leadership. The role blends technical accounting with scalable process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee accounting operations, ensure internal controls, manage audits, and coach a growing team to build robust financial practices supporting growth and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls.
• Experience in federal contracting environment and compliance requirements.
• Experience developing or improving accounting policies and financial processes.
• Ability to translate financial data into practical business recommendations.
• Experience working with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in day-to-day accounting activities while leading the function.
• Prepare and post journal entries; maintain GL integrity.
• Perform reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, resolve items.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, accruals and reports.
• Support AP, AR, billing, cash activity and general accounting.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate audits and support internal controls.
• Develop policies, workflows, and reporting practices.
• Provide coaching to finance and accounting staff.
• Partner with senior leaders on performance, trends, and risks.
• Translate financial data into actionable insights.
