Job summary

Simplified Real Estate is seeking an Accounting leader to own and improve the finance operations for a growing 1,300+ unit property management portfolio. You will lead a 3–6 person team, own month-end close and GL reconciliations, and set high standards for accuracy and accountability.

Reporting to the CFO, you will build scalable processes, protect quality, and implement audit-ready reporting across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience.
• Proven experience leading a finance or accounting team and setting KPIs.
• Ownership of month-end close, GL reconciliations, AR/AP workflows, and GAAP compliance.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and internal control frameworks.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

If you are a driven Accounting leader who likes to own the detail, set high standards, and turn complex accounting into a precise, accurate, and consistent operation, this role is built for you. You will lead the technical foundation of a 1,300+ unit property management portfolio, work with autonomy, and take charge of the workflows that keep reporting reliable. We are looking for someone confident enough to make independent decisions, analytical enough to follow the data, and disciplined enough to protect quality. You will work to clear deadlines, solve issues quickly, and build documented, audit-ready finance operations that scale.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the CFO, you will own month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, AR/AP workflow architecture, internal controls, and financial reporting systems. You will lead a team of 3-6, create structure, define process and rules, and hold the team to clear standards for accuracy and follow-through. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is technical, factual, and thorough: you will review detail, identify control gaps, use sound judgment, and improve workflows based on evidence. Success means operating with urgency and pace while remaining precise, compliant, and consistent. You will take charge when issues surface, respond decisively, and keep critical deadlines on track.

ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

• 3- 5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience
• Proven experience leading a finance or accounting team, with responsibility for setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, developing team members, and maintaining accountability for performance and results.
• Experience owning month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, AR/AP workflows, and GAAP compliance.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and internal control frameworks
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving capability with close attention to accounting work
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Property management or real estate experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
