Job summary

Simplified Real Estate seeks an Accounting leader to own and scale finance operations for a 1,300+ unit property management portfolio. You will lead a 3-6 person team, manage month-end close, GL reconciliations, AR/AP workflows, and GAAP reporting, while building audit-ready processes and structure to support rapid growth.

Reporting to the CFO, you will set standards, monitor KPIs, and implement robust internal controls to ensure timely, accurate financials and strong operational visibility for

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience.
• Experience leading a finance or accounting team, with responsibility for setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, developing team members, and maintaining accountability for performance and results.
• Experience owning month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, AR/AP workflows, and GAAP compliance.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and internal control frameworks.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving capability with close attention to accounting work.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Property management or real estate experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, AR/AP workflow architecture, internal controls, and financial reporting systems.
• Lead a team of 3-6, create structure, define process and rules, and hold the team to clear standards for accuracy and follow-through.
• Review detail, identify control gaps, use sound judgment, and improve workflows based on evidence.
• Success means operating with urgency and pace while remaining precise, compliant, and consistent.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with the CFO and other leaders to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
