You'll gain experience with Excel and financial systems, participate in intern projects, and receive mentorship from leaders in Accounting and Finance, with exposure to potential career paths across the function.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Foundational understanding of accounting principles and finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with automation tools such as Alteryx is a plus, but not required.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Curiosity, a willingness to ask questions, and an interest in learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close processes.
• Collaborate with accounting team members to analyze financial data and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Prepare reports and ad‑hoc analyses used by the Senior Leadership Team and other department leaders.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other financial tools to organize, analyze, and validate financial information.
• Contribute to intern group projects and attend professional development sessions hosted by leadership.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams to understand the broader financial ecosystem at Hartford Funds.
