Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, a global leader in specialty vehicles, seeks a Summer Finance/Accounting Intern for Pierce Manufacturing in Wisconsin. The student will support reporting and analytical projects, contribute to closing processes, and assist with cost and month-end reporting.

You will work full-time over the summer, building Excel-based analytics, reviewing vendor statements, and aiding fixed asset accounting while gaining exposure to Lean/Six Sigma projects within a manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Ability to work full time (40 hours per week) throughout the summer.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word knowledge.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assignment of tasks that support the business through finance processes.
• Supporting inventory closing processes.
• Reviewing/verifying vendor/ customer statements and performing follow-up.
• Become familiar with truck invoicing.
• Assist in the process of costing trucks and preparation of month-end reporting.
• Assist with Fixed Asset accounting.
• Assist with various reports (eg. Fuel Tax) & reviewing/verifying employee expense reports.
• Create Excel files, business metric information, & analytical needs for Lean/Six Sigma projects.
• Improve processes by eliminating non-value-added work and enabling the use of technology.
• Other projects and assignments as agreed upon with your leader.
