Job summary

NXTPoint Logistics, a leading 3PL with over 30 owned facilities and a broad partner network, is seeking an Operations Manager for our North Charleston, SC location. You will oversee staffing, customer relationships, performance, and direction.

The role requires recruiting and developing staff and independent contractors, monitoring KPIs, ensuring safety, budget planning, and driving continuous improvements while adhering to local, state, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the transportation, logistics, or related industry.
• Previous experience managing an employee team.
• Must have worked with Independent Contractors on a regular basis.
• Required knowledge of managing financial performance.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Four (4) year college degree in Business, Supply Chain Logistics, or related field preferred.
• Must maintain a clear and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment and development strategy of staff and Independent Contractors/Drivers.
• Evaluate staff and Independent Contractors performance and adjust strategies as needed.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with customers for a positive experience.
• Ensure policies and procedures are consistently enforced.
• Schedule and negotiate with vendors and service providers to ensure best value and standards.
• Create and maintain a safe working environment and promote a safety culture.
• Review KPIs and drive process improvements.
• Conduct regular team meetings and training to improve performance.
• Assist in planning budgeted equipment, vehicle, and staffing needs.
• Display involvement in P&L performance and align with budget goals.
• Develop, recommend, and manage annual operation budget.
• Drive initiatives for long-term excellence.
• Ensure compliance with Local, Federal and State laws.
• Coordinate and resolve issues related to Operations Performance.
• Ensure accurate driver pay and ethical practices.
• Monitor Quality Control Scores and address issues.
• Confirm Independent Contractors/Drivers are properly qualified with required documentation and licensing.
