Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Final Assembly operator to set up, operate and monitor the Final Assembly line, ensuring products meet quality standards and line efficiency. You will work within a multidisciplinary production team to support continuous improvement and safe manufacturing practices.

The role requires standing for long periods, reading blueprints, lifting heavy components, and following detailed Work Instructions. 2nd shift availability with overtime as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be willing to learn team skills and work in a team environment.
• Daily routine requires being on your feet nearly 100% of the time, walking, standing, stooping or bending.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull to remove extinguishers along the assembly line and pack extinguishers where average to heavy weight is involved.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand simple math and work from blueprints.
• At a minimum, must be job certified as a Machine Operator II for the Sentry Auto Line.

Responsibilities

• Fill Equipment Monitors equipment and controls of Fill and Material Handling System; regulates inputs (air dryer, compressor, chemical flow, vacuum pressure, etc.) and makes the appropriate system adjustments.
• Inspect set up and ensure proper valves are open on the silos.
• Check chemical temperature to ensure proper gassing levels.
• Inspects product and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process.
• Maintains equipment (vacuums equipment and area, cleans fill heads, etc.) per Work Instructions.
• Change reclaimed chemical tote at change over and when full.
• Changes over equipment for various model shells (units) and chemicals.
• Reworks rejected units and returns them to the system.
• Mass Spectrometer Monitors equipment and controls of the Mass Spectrometer and handles rejected shells accordingly.
• Makes calibration adjustments to mass spectrometer as needed.
• Monitors and maintains oil levels.
• Monitors the Labeler equipment.
• Changes over equipment for various models.
• Inspects shells (critical dimensions, visual checks) and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process.
• Manually loads/unloads units onto/off of the conveyor in the event of a Material Handling equipment breakdown.
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Operator, Supervisor, or Department Manager.
• Responsible for all training and training documentation for Final Assembly.
