Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Final Assembly Supervisor 2 to lead the final unit assembly team, supervising 10–15 technicians and ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery. The role supports mission-critical naval systems with strong leadership and Lean manufacturing practices.

The position requires a Bachelor’s with extensive manufacturing leadership, or higher degrees, plus the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in operations or Master’s with 6+ years or PhD with 4+ years.
• Supervisory or team lead experience in an operations environment.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance and must be a U.S. Citizen.
• SAP experience and familiarity with union workforce management are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team directly responsible for final assembly of units.
• Supervise a 10–15 member team of mechanics, pipe fitters, painters, or electricians.
• Ensure work meets Northrop Grumman safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement standards.
• Ensure timekeeping and pay accuracy for the team.
• Maintain a safe work environment and address team concerns.
• Adhere to the collective bargaining agreement and complete assigned training.
• Identify and remove obstacles to efficient work and address interpersonal issues quickly.
• Be flexible to work weekends to support operations.
