Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Final Assembly Shipping - 2nd Shift to assemble, wire, and modify medium- and high-voltage assemblies, power modules, and sub-assemblies. Work from drawings and instructions, complete quality checklists, and prepare materials for shipment. Must operate an overhead crane and maintain forklift certification.

Excellent attention to detail and teamwork are required. The position offers $18.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential, with potential incentive bonus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • 3 months of experience using hand and air (pneumatic) tools.
  • No sponsorship for employment; no relocation assistance; must reside within 50 miles of Greenwood, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, fit, and modify electrical assemblies from drawings and instructions.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment; perform wiring operations as needed.
  • Receive, label, pack, and prepare materials for shipment; maintain Kanban levels.
  • Inspect assemblies for secure hardware, completeness, and cleanliness; ensure quality.
  • Operate an overhead crane and maintain forklift certification; work at heights (4–15 ft).

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Final Assembly Shipping - 2nd Shift.The rate for this position is $18.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The hours are Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 1:00 am.This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:In the Final Assembly Technician role, you assemble, wire, fit, and modify work in the manufacture of medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub-assemblies associated with these.Work from manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written or verbal instructions from supervisors or engineering, following established procedures.Complete ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists as required by supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering.Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wiring operations as needed.Receive, pick, label, pack, and prepare materials and assemblies for shipment.Maintain minimum Kanban inventory levels and report shortages to the appropriate personnel.Inspect all assemblies for secure hardware, completeness, and cleanliness.Respond to change notices, customer-requested adjustments, and development needs.Maintain active forklift certification.Operate an overhead crane.Work at heights ranging from 4 to 15 feet.Qualifications:Basic:High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.1 year of manufacturing experience.Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Greenwood facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.Preferred:3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment3 months of experience using hand and air (pneumatic) tools.South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalentPosition Criteria:Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with persuasive and analytical problem‑solving abilities.Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in a team‑based environment.Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.Ability to use various hand tools to assemble components and verify quality in a Lean manufacturing environment.Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble units.Ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook and job‑specific software including Enovia.Additional Information:Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use their hands to handle and feel materials and tools. The employee is frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and apply sustained gripping force. The role frequently requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as well as pushing and pulling 50 pounds or more with or without accommodation.
