Job summary

LSU New Orleans seeks a Computer and Film Equipment Technician to maintain Windows-based hardware and software across labs, classrooms, and offices. The role involves managing film production software (DaVinci Resolve, Avid ProTools, Adobe Creative Suite, Movie Magic) and advising on equipment purchases.

You will also manage the equipment room, schedule checkouts, train student workers, and develop guides for new gear while ensuring accurate annual inventories.

Qualifications

• BA in Computer Science or Film Production with related experience.
• Ability to install and configure computer hardware and software for film production and teaching.
• Experience maintaining a checkout room with a small staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Windows based hardware and software in computer labs, classrooms and faculty offices.
• Maintain film lab equipment and software, including DaVinci Resolve, Avid ProTools, Adobe CS and Movie Magic.
• Advise on purchase of computer software and hardware for film production and teaching.
• Manage equipment room, schedule checkouts/ins and supervise graduate assistants and student workers.
• Develop training guides for new equipment and assist students.
