Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is seeking an experienced File Transfer System Administrator to manage enterprise file transfer infrastructure. You will administer IBM Sterling CD/SFG/SSP and Axway Secure Transfer, ensuring reliable, secure data exchange with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities include platform administration, on‑call support, automation using shell scripts and Ansible, and enforcing security/compliance across systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on with IBM Sterling Connect:Direct.
• 3+ years IBM Sterling Secure File Gateway (SFG).
• Proficiency in IBM Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP) administration.
• Strong experience with Axway Secure Transfer (SecureTransport/CFT).
• Understanding of file transfer protocols: FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, AS2, PeSIT.

Responsibilities

• Platform Administration: Administer IBM Sterling CD, SFG, SSP; manage Axway Secure Transfer; monitor transfers; perform configs, upgrades, patches.
• Operations & Support: provide on-call production support; resolve incidents; automate workflows; document runbooks.
• Automation & Scripting: develop shell scripts; use Ansible for config management; create monitoring scripts and alerts.
• Security & Compliance: implement security controls; manage certificates/keys; conduct audits and incident response; ensure policies compliance.
