Job summary

Cage & Miles is seeking a dependable File Clerk to organize and maintain client files, both paper and electronic, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. You will assist with document management, audits, and court materials while supporting the firm’s transition to a paperless environment.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, can manage multiple priorities, communicates professionally, and upholds strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in office administration or legal studies is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a File Clerk, Office Clerk, or in a similar role, preferably in a legal setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with office equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Discretion and integrity in handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for client records, case files, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure all documents are accurately filed, organized and readily accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Conduct routine audits of files and records to verify accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
  • Support the firm’s ongoing transition to a paperless environment.
  • Respond to filing requests promptly and maintain professional communication with attorneys and staff regarding document retrieval and file management.
  • Prepare attorneys for upcoming court hearings by organizing and printing requested materials.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to various departments as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to firm policies and procedures.

Job Summary:
